The Ludwig Supraphonic, Black Beauty and Acrolite have been the industry standards for many decades and can be heard on countless hit recordings! Countless drummers started with this "student model" which many believe is equal in sound quality to the more expensive aluminum shell Supraphonic.

The classic "Supraphonic" LM400/402 is offered in aluminum, brass or bronze shell with various brilliant finishes. The "Supra" is possibly the most recorded snare drum ever. The iconic Black Beauty is a close cousin of the Supra, with a brass shell and amazing deep gray chrome finish. It is also a recording studio benchmark and has reached legendary status.

The Bronze features a clear coating for a natural and elegant appearance. The Acrolite shares the Supraphonic's aluminum shell with a classy black sparkle finish.
